Agave cenizo or durangensis is the endemic agave of the region and the protagonist of the Dona Natalia brand. What makes it different from other agave species is its unmatched softness and velvety sweetness. It grows wild on the volcanic soil of the Durango mountains and is fed by the pure spring water that lies in its subsoil. Both in aroma and flavor, you will be able to feel each of its notes.

The baking of the Pineapples in volcanic stone gives our mezcal a discreet smoky note that balances perfectly with its sweetness.

The agave pineapples are baked in a volcanic stone oven which is slowly heated with mesquite wood and sealed with river silt. This is what gives it that peculiar and subtle smoky and sweet touch.

Crystal clear. Elegant yet fresh with aromas of salted limes alongside deeper, resiny, sappy, woodsy notes – beeswax, green peppercorns, feijoa, dill pickle, brine – 2-3 minutes finds split pine, rose-wax… Entry is light bodied, velvet soft. Mid palate finds balanced astringency with white pepper and smokey agave. Cool mint and an almost ethereal lightness to the finish."
